Site specific propojuje pohyb, tanec, interaktivní instalaci, fyzické divadlo, hudbu, scénografii a prostor.

    concept: Tereza Lepoldova, Lukas Lepold
acting:Kristýna Kmentová, Hana Gallinová, Michael Samuel Blaško, Michal Nagy
    music: Lamina Fibro, Ian Hatcher
    creative technology: Jakub Tajovský
    production: Denisa Motalová

Představení vzniká za finanční podpory Statutárního města Brna a Ministerstva kultury ČR.

  • Image style recognition using convolutional neural networks

Image style recognition using convolutional neural networks

    Lecture

Recent technological advances have made it possible to digitize an increasing number of works of art. It is no wonder, then, that the automatic classification, indexing and retrieval of fine art images has received increased attention in recent years. However, compared to the classification of natural objects, the classification of works of art is a much more challenging task. Convolutional neural networks (CNN), which consist of a number of layers of convolutional matrix operations, are an ideal solution for image analysis and object identification. CNN uses a similar concept to the graphics filters used in graphics editors, but in a much more complex and computationally intensive manner.

    Workshop and lecture

Algorithmic art seldom creates finished and unchanging works. Generative creation is usually based on gradual or even never-ending development. During the generation, aesthetic solutions are tentatively sought for which we do not know the specific procedure or exact parameters. Algorithmic images are developed on the basis of interaction with the creator or with the use of chance (and more and more recently with the contribution of artificial intelligence). The lecture with practical examples presents various types of creative applications for rendering time and randomness in computer graphics. You will be convinced that if you manage to capture chance at the right time, it can bring you an unprecedented aesthetic experience.

  • Nanostructure

    Nanostructure

The nanostructure is inspired by electron microscope images. It is a shape-unique, reusable construction with a diameter of 10.5 m, which attracts with its unconventional appearance and brings a completely new experience of three-dimensional space. The VISUAL multimedia architects are behind the design of Nanostructure. The installation partner is Thermo Fisher Scientific, the largest manufacturer of electron microscopes in our country. The nanostructure was lent by the Brno Observatory and Planetarium.

  • Terralóna

    Terralóna

A unique photorealistic model of the planet Earth, this is Terralo. The real Earth has a diameter of 13 thousand kilometers, Terralón only 10 meters. On such a scale, Mount Everest would reach a height of 7 millimeters. In full reality, the International Space Station moves at an altitude of 400 km at a speed of 28,000 kilometers per hour. At Terralón, we would find this base at a height of 30 centimeters. Our Moon would be less than 4 meters in diameter and would move about three hundred meters away. The fact that the Sun would take the form of a sphere with a diameter of 1 kilometer, but it would be 120 kilometers away, ie roughly near Ostrava, testifies to how desolate the universe is. The terralo is rotated by 23 ° so that you can see Europe better when you look at it.

  • Mobile planetarium

    Mobile planetarium

In the mobile planetarium from the Brno Observatory, you can experience the feeling of a large digital planetarium. The unique spherical design allows you to project on the inner shell using a video projector. Thanks to its blue color, you will definitely not miss the mobile planetarium.

  • Control

    Control

  • How to think creatively about the art of new media: an audiovisual essay

How to think creatively about the art of new media: an audiovisual essay

Presentation of audiovisual essays by students of the subject Canon of New Media Art: The best of new media art, which is taught in the field of Theory of Interactive Media at FF MU. Essays creatively reflect the specific directions of new media art, individual works of art or more general features of new media art. Through audiovisual essays demonstrates their own understanding of new media art – they place it in the context of their own opinions or experiences and think about it in the light of current social, political or environmental problems
