The immersive, site-specific installation The Path of Light transforms the sacred space of St James’s Church into a monumental audiovisual spectacle. The piece intertwines the church’s Gothic architecture with a narrative of the birth, order, and demise of the universe. It draws on the site’s historical genius loci and the symbolism of the St James’s Pilgrimage. Through the precise manipulation of light and an organ-based soundscape, the boundary between the physical structure and the depths of the cosmos is blurred – from the Big Bang to the silent birth of a new planet.
As a standalone prelude to the PROTOTYP Festival, Preview will offer visitors an exclusive audiovisual experience before the main festival even begins.
