I See You, You See Me is part provocation, part experiment.
Human digital connectedness grows even as voluntary isolation becomes more common—a trend often linked to the increase in the number of people suffering from social anxiety symptoms. The eyes of strangers, tracking every movement, can feel judgmental, negative, or even hostile.
But that feeling can go both ways.
The absurdity of this mutual feeling should not feed our anxiety, but inspire us to seek understanding and expand our capacity for empathy. In this participatory installation, adding your drawing becomes a way to join a collective of creators—no longer strangers—whose watchful eyes lose their piercing sting.
Vojtěch has always been fascinated by interactive media and their ability to engage on multiple levels, which led him to study visual informatics at Masaryk University. Although he mainly focused on the study of digital games, his general interest in art drew him toward generative graphics and more experimental games. In his work, he therefore emphasizes interactivity and frequently applies game design theory. The projects he has contributed to have been presented in small galleries, during previous editions of the PROTOTYP festival, or as part of the Ars Electronica festival in Linz. He is currently working at a Czech game studio on a long-term project.
