Fairy tales and activities with the robots Ju and Pi, who really want to help people but often get everything wrong, will introduce children to the concepts of data, machine learning, bias, large language models, and ambient intelligence. The program is part of the AI for Kids initiative within the AI Curriculum.
What children will learn:
- How do humans learn, and how do machines do it?
- People develop technologies to make life easier — but does it always work?
- How do machines actually learn? What’s the difference between a descriptive algorithm and machine learning?
- And what exactly is “data”? Is it the internet on your phone, or files — and where does it all live?
- Wow! Machines can learn not only from examples but also from experience!
- But sometimes they mix things up! They have biases!
- Do chatbots talk nonsense, or are they universal brains of humanity?
- And what will it look like when robots get their own pets?
