From the depths of an old phone booth, your words break into dots and dashes and rise upward as a vertical beam of light — perhaps all the way into space. The installation connects intimate messages with public space: personal dots and dashes become a shared luminous pulse of the city. Come and send your signal, one that will briefly light up the sky.
Ondřej Bulva works as an assistant professor at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts (JAMU), specifically in the Department of Theatre Production and Stage Technology.
In his practice, he combines teaching, technical support for events, and the creation of multimedia installations — mastering aspects of light, sound, and interaction, while working freely on the boundary between technology and art.
As a member of the VISUALOVE team, he contributes to the design and realization of scenography, lighting effects, and audiovisual environments.
His ability to “understand almost everything,” while delivering work that is precise and meaningful, makes him an indispensable practitioner and creator in the field of new media in Brno.
