Experimenting is about the search for a code. Just as nature is defined by chemical processes, such as the photosynthesis equation, human DNA is also a code. A computer program, just like AI, is a code based on which all programmed devices operate. We thus see AI as a tool. Our experiences with 3D AI research allow us to see beyond the divides of the general AI discourse surrounding ethics, control and sustainability. Rather than focusing on positives and negatives only, we can productively unpack the nuances of AI use and misuse. We encourage class discussion, asking questions such as: Can nature and the planet in crisis be saved by AI? How can we design with AI? The studio searches for the most efficient ways in which AI education contributes to creative and academic development of students.
