Under Surface

Matúš Astrab

The multimedia installation draws the viewer as if into the Earth’s surface and provides glimpses that are often concealed. The aim is for each recipient to become part of the underground ecosystem for a moment, to perceive its diversity, details, and to recognize its presence, rarity, and the significance of soil and the life within it. It should also offer intriguing perspectives and have an educational effect. The atmosphere of being beneath the Earth’s surface is deepened by original music created specifically for the work by musician Majo Jenčo.
